Environment of Lights on Wade Oval by artist pairs Hector Castellanos-Lara and Rafael Valdivieso, Mark and Patty Jenks, Mark Jenks and Robin VanLear, Carl Johnson and Abby Maier, Story Rhinehart and Lizzie Roche, and also a central piece designed by Ian Petroni. The concept for the Environment of Lights, featuring a signature illuminated gateway, was designed and created by CMAs Artistic Director of Community Arts Robin VanLear. The installation will remain on view through Dec. 16.
On Sunday, Dec. 2, as part of Holiday CircleFest (1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.), the Lantern Festival will climax with a
Procession of Lights to Wade Oval, where it will encircle and wind through the
Environment of Lights. Open to everyone, the procession will begin from the Museums North Entrance at 5:30 p.m. Dancers from Inlet Dance Theatre will join other dancers and puppeteers as giant puppets, dancers and the invited artists with their own specially created lanterns, lead the crowd into and through the installation
