Detailed Description of the McMyler Memorial Organ
The McMyler Memorial Organ, in its current manifestation, was built by the Holtkamp Organ Co., designed by Walter Holtkamp, Jr., and installed in 1971. The 1971 instrument utilized some ranks of pipes from the Walter Holtkamp, Sr. organ in the Interior Garden Court, which in turn was a rebuilding of the 1921 Ernest M. Skinner organ.

Stops: 62 stops (A stop is a set of pipes with at least one pipe for each key on the keyboard. Each stop represents a particular timbre or voice (e.g. flute, trumpet, etc.)
Keyboards: Three manual keyboards of 61 notes each (CC-c4)
The pedal keyboard has 32 notes (CC-g1)
Ranks: There are 79 1/2 stops - ranks (A rank is a row of pipes, most of which are clearly visible from the audience).
Divisions: The instrument has four divisions: Pedal Organ, Great Organ, Swell Organ, and Positiv Organ.
Action: Stop and key action are electropneumatic.
Pipes: 4,019 pipes made of a variety of materials including Sitka spruce, yellow poplar, & oak as well as tin/lead alloys, zinc, and copper.
Name: A 1920 gift given in memory of P. J. McMyler by his wife and daughters provided for the CMA's first organ (a Skinner originally located in the Inner Garden Court) and an endowment for the Department of Musical Arts. P. J. McMyler was a noted Cleveland industrialist.
Console(s): The organ is equipped with a solid state logic system, which allows for the use of a second stage console in addition to the gallery console, and further permits both consoles to be played independently or together. The organ is also MIDI capable with a digital data recorder.
