Amanda Carlson

Amanda Carlson (b. Cleveland, Ohio) is a specialist in the arts of the Cross River region of Nigeria. Her research focuses on Ejagham masquerades and an indigenous African writing system, known as nsibidi. Dr. Carlson has a Ph.D. in African Art History from Indiana University (Bloomington) and is currently Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Hartford, Connecticut.
