Build Your Own Decorative Egg Holder

Choose one of the following options. When the image has finished loading, print to letter size paper. If you can, turn off graphics smoothing and disable any heading information to be printed by your browser (like page number, file name, etc.)

Kids, you'll need adult supervision to do this project.

For best results, glue the printout sheets to a thin piece of cardboard or poster board (apply glue in a very thin layer to avoid rippling the paper). This will give your egg stand strength and durability.

If you wish to paint or add color to your egg stand, it is easiest to do so while the pieces are still flat.

On the diagrams, red means to cut something.
Green means to use glue or tape.

The Blue lines indicate folding directions.

• Cut out the 3 pieces of the egg holder:
  • egg holder base
  • both egg holder arms
  
  
• Assemble the holder arms:
  
  • Score on the dotted lines and fold the arm pieces.
    
  • You can use some glue to secure the halves of the arm pieces together. The arms will be more durrable, but they should work without it.
    
  • Once the 2 arm pieces are dry, slide them together.
    
  • The 2 arm pieces should make an X shape when looked at from the top.
    
• Assemble the Base.
  
  • Curve the base section around to make a "tube" shape, make sure you don't fold, just curve the paper. Use some glue or tape on the tab end and secure it too the INSIDE of the other end.
    
  • The decorative pattern (on the first model) should match up where the seam is. Let the base dry.
    
• Final Assembly:
  
  • Slide the arms down into the base.
    
  • Your decorative egg stand is now finished! All it needs now is your own egg (preferably decorated) to show off!
