Archival material
Cleveland Museum of Art Records of the Department of Contemporary Art- May Show Files. The May Show was an annual juried exhibition of work by Cleveland-area artists held at the Museum from 1919-1993. These files consist of approximately twenty cubic feet of documents from the first to the last May Show. Because the May Show included glass as a medium for competition, the files also document other artists in the Cleveland area who worked in glass. The following artists, represented in the Glass Today exhibition, have biographies in the May Show files:
Edris Eckhardt
Henry Halem
Jack Ink
William R. McKinney
Daniel Rothenfeld
Mary Kay Simoni
Mark Sudduth
Mark Vance
Brent Kee Young
The Archives also has an audio tour of an exhibition of Dale Chihuly's works held at the Dallas Museum of Art in 1994. It includes Chihuly's comments on each piece represented in that exhibition.
