CONCERTS, LECTURES, WORKSHOPS PLANNED FOR
VATICAN TREASURES
Visitors to the Cleveland Museum of Art this winter will be able to experience historic music from Gregorian chants to Renaissance Italian harpsichord concerts; learn about St. Peter's Basilica in Rome; hear a lecture by the acting director general of the Vatican Museums; and make their own glittering letters inspired
by medieval illuminated manuscripts. All these events and others have been planned to complement
Vatican Treasures: Early Christian, Renaissance, and Baroque Art from the Papal
Collections, on view in Cleveland only, from February 8 through April 12, 1998.
Many of the events are free. For events requiring tickets, they are available through the museum's new ticket and membership center; the phone numbers for the center are 421-7350 or toll-free 1-888-CMA-0033 outside the 216 area code. A preliminary list of
events follows. A complete programs brochure will be available when the exhibition opens.
