Chelsea Porcelain Factory

British

Probably the first and in many ways the best in England. The factory's early history is very obscure; but it may have acquired the secret of porcelain manufacture from Thomas Briand, who demonstrated a fine white porcelain to the Royal Society in 1742. The earliest known products are small cream jugs in the form two reclining goats marked with the date 1745.
